The Calvet Museum
The Calvet Museum displays paintings, sculptures, and art objects from the 15th to the 20th century in a beautiful 11th-century mansion, as well as an interesting Egyptian collection, Asian and Islamic art. Géricault, Claudel, Manet, Sisley, and Vlaminck are just a few of the many artists presented at the Calvet Museum.
Located at 65 rue Joseph Vernet, the museum is open from Wednesday to Monday, from 10 AM to 6 PM, but note that it closes from 1 PM to 2 PM.

The Petit Palais Museum
If you only have time to visit one museum during your vacation in Avignon, visit this fascinating museum of medieval art. From room to room, you dive into the artistic creation of medieval and Renaissance Italy, as well as the Avignon region from the 12th to the 16th century. One room is entirely dedicated to the famous Italian master Botticelli. You can discover several of his works and his studio, giving insight into how he worked with his collaborators and models.
The building itself is worth the visit. It was the former Palais des Archevêques, just a few steps from the Palais des Papes, and also reflects the papal installation in the 14th century.
This museum is free and open from Wednesday to Monday, from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM.

The Lambert Collection in Avignon
« Consisting of works donated to the state by art dealer Yves Lambert in 2000, this superb collection is a reflection of contemporary art from the 1980s to today. It includes painting, photography, and video. Contemporary art enthusiasts will be delighted!

It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 AM to 6 PM between September and June, and from 11 AM to 7 PM in July and August. The full price is €10, and the reduced price is €8 (for job seekers and students). Children aged 6 to 11 pay only €2, and younger children enter for free.
The Lapidaire Museum of Avignon
The Lapidaire Museum presents the archaeological and ancient collections of the Calvet Museum in the 17th-century chapel of the Jesuit College.
It houses Greek, Roman, Gallo-Roman, Etruscan, and Early Christian artifacts. Various objects, including vases, jewelry, bronzes, and funeral furniture, provide insights into daily life in Antiquity.
The museum is free of charge. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM. It is located at 27 rue de la République.
The Angladon Museum
Located in a former private mansion, this house-museum showcases the collection of Jacques Doucet, featuring works by Degas, Cézanne, Modigliani, Sisley, Van Gogh, and Picasso. You will also find period furniture and objects, as well as stunning rooms like the Renaissance salon or the Far Eastern cabinet. For children, a multimedia app allows them to explore the museum through a treasure hunt. Tablets are provided.
The Angladon Museum is located at 5 rue Laboureur. It is generally open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 1 PM to 6 PM. Various ticket options are available: full price at €8, reduced rates at €5, €3, and €1.50, with free entry for children under 4 years old.
